“When I played Persona 5 Royal, hands down my favorite of the new tracks was 'The Ideal and Real'. As a character theme for Takuto Maruki, it works perfectly, so when I was given the opportunity to be part of a Persona 5 album, I knew immediately which song I wanted to cover. Stylistically, I wanted it to contrast from the original in some way yet still be grooving. I’m a HUGE fan of Prince, and I’ve been really immersing myself in his music lately, so I took this as an opportunity to add a Prince/MJ style dance break in the middle of the song, and to bring it to the next level, my good buddy Eric Hirschhorn and I went full solo battle on it. He also lended his horn arranging skills and keyboard playing skills just to add some more spice to the arrangement. Talented dude! Anyways put on your baggy neon clothes and get ready to go back to the 80s!” - Xnarky
